Each year, local officials attend the Governor's Conference in Nashville, where the governor, state department officials and related agencies provide an overview of economic and community development information and seminars for local elected officials and economic development officials from across the state.
This year, County Mayor Joe B. Liggett and the mayors from each municipality in Marshall County are hosting a Mayors' Conference to provide economic and community development information to the general public, business, industry and community leaders at Lewisburg Middle School - 500 Tiger Blvd., Lewisburg, TN on Thursday, June 15 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Featured speaker will be Amy New - Assistant Commissioner, Rural Development for the State of Tennessee. Lunch will be provided so please register to assist in the head count.
Please make plans to attend this event to stay informed and involved in the economic and community planning for Marshall County, Lewisburg, Chapel Hill, Cornersville and Petersburg.
8:00 a.m. – 8:25 a.m.:
•Welcome & Overview
County Mayor will Welcome Guests and Provide an Overview of the Activities/Sessions for the Day, as well as provide basic EXIT Door and Restroom directions

JECDB, Lewisburg ECD and Chamber of Commerce Provide Overviews of:
•Economic Development Data 2015-2016
•Successes & Trends
•Plans for 2017 and Beyond
9:30 a.m. – 10:25 a.m.:
County Mayor, Lewisburg Mayor, Chapel Hill Mayor, Cornersville Mayor and Petersburg Mayor (may substitute City/Town Manager or other Designee) to give 10 minute Report on Main Topics of Administration Heading into 2017
10:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.:
10:50 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.:
Director of Schools to Report on State of Education in Marshall County relating to:
•Educational Report Card Results
•Goals and Plans for 2017 and Beyond
•Issues & Concerns
11:50 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.:
Lunch will be served in the cafeteria (idea: have Specific Topic Written on Paper at each table and request that during lunch, people sitting at that table develop three Goals, Plans or Actions relating to that Topic)
1:10 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.:
•Featured Speaker – Amy New – Assist. Commissioner State ECD Rural Development
Assistant Commissioner Amy New will provide information on Her Office and the State’s Focus on Rural Community Development including Incentives, Plans, Goals and Successes
2:10 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.:
Library Director, Jennifer Pearson, will discuss Library current events and plans for 2017 & beyond
3:10 p.m. – 3:25 a.m.:

•Lightning Rounds (15 Minutes Each)
United Communications to Discuss Their Progress and Goals
Group to Discuss its Mission and Goals for 2017 & Beyond

Review and Urge Agencies and Groups to Enter into Strategic Planning for 2017 and to Share Planning with Other Agencies and Groups to insure everyone has same or similar goals and all are working toward the same.
