
Chapel Hill is a historic town located in the northern part of Marshall County, Tennessee. It was established in the early 19th century and was named by early settlers from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It was originally chartered in 1889. The town of Chapel Hill is known for its tight-knit community, great schools, historial charm, and a strong preservation of its past through its buildings and sites.
Home to Henry Horton State Park, an 1,140-acre park, and the former estate of Henry H. Horton, 36th governor of TN, Chapel Hill is a huge tourist destination. Nestled along the Duck River, it features a golf course, inns and cabins, hiking trails, a Trap and Skeet Range, mountain bike courses, ADA improvements throughout the park, a campground, and multi-million dollar renovations to the restaurant and welcome center.
