Established in 1807 and incorporated in 1830, Cornersville has a rich history and deep roots in Marshall County. Located just 7 miles south of Lewisburg, the county seat, Cornersville sits along U.S. Highway 31A / State Route 11, providing convenient access to surrounding cities. The town is approximately 61 miles south of Nashville, 64 miles west of Murfreesboro, 26 miles east of Columbia, and 53 miles north of Huntsville, Alabama.
EDUCATION
Cornersville is served by the Marshall County School System and offers a strong, community-centered education experience for students from early childhood through high school.

It was recognized as a Tennessee Reward School for the 2024–2025 school year, highlighting academic achievement and improvement within the state accountability system.

Cornersville is proud to be home to the new launch, Dolly’s Tennesseean Travel Stop, a well-known landmark that has served travelers, truck drivers, and locals for decades. Conveniently located along U.S. Highway 31A / State Route 11, the popular spot plays an important role in supporting traffic through southern Marshall County.
The travel stop contributes to the local economy by providing jobs, supporting regional transportation and logistics, and drawing visitors who may also support nearby businesses. As a hub for fuel, food, and rest, it reflects Cornersville’s position as a welcoming crossroads community.
The Tennessean Travel Stop features a massive, 24-stall Tesla Supercharger station, offering up to 250kW charging speeds. Located at Exit 22 off Interstate 65, it includes pull-through and side-orientation stalls that can accommodate both Tesla and non-Tesla EVs with CCS compatibility.
